The Human Middle Of Change
Kevin develops his central idea: change is won or lost in the human middle. Above it, leaders decide; below it, people are affected; but the managers in between translate a decision, often one imposed by outside forces, into a lived transition, and whether they do that well decides the outcome. Most organisations under-invest in exactly this layer.
He is specific that leading the middle means supporting those managers, not just instructing them. They need to understand the change well enough to explain it, to have their own concerns heard, and to be given the standing to lead rather than relay. Kevin shows a Pakistani audience how to build and back that middle so change travels through it.
Without that support, he warns, even a sound strategy dies in translation, because the people asked to carry it were never equipped to.
